Practical Resources

  • American Association of University Supervisors and Coordinators (AAUSC): A professional organization that supports language program direction in higher ed through conferences, publications, and a professional community.
  • ACTFL Classroom Resources for Teachers: Offers tools such as Can-Do Statements, Proficiency Guidelines, and the World-Readiness Standards to support textbook selection and curriculum alignment with national standards.
  • H5P: A free, open-source platform for creating interactive digital activities. Ideal for transforming traditional textbook exercises into dynamic formats like quizzes, flashcards, or video-based questions.
  • AAC&U VALUE Rubrics: Although not language-specific, these rubrics (e.g., Global Learning, Critical Thinking, Information Literacy) can help LPDs assess whether a textbook promotes transferable skills.
  • @ONE (Online Network of Educators): Offers courses that support faculty in designing inclusive, effective, and accessible online learning environments, with targeted training in digital pedagogy, accessibility, equity, and instructional design.
