The activity we see here involves taking seriously the idea that “texts are not sacred.” What do you think about the activity? What are its advantages and disadvantages?

Does it matter that the final “version” of the poem is a bit crazy?

Can you imagine doing this kind of activity with non-literary texts? Would it be any different, say, using a short newspaper report? What variations on the activity can you suggest?
