There is still much to learn about the knowledge, thinking, and teaching practices of immersion teachers. In particular, how do teacher practices and beliefs influence student language use and content learning? This symposium reports on qualitative studies with immersion teachers in two distinct international contexts: Finland and the U.S. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss with the researchers the findings and their implications for future research and professional development for immersion teachers.
