Unit Overview:

This unit provides an introduction to the topic of American values, allows the students to compare and contrast those values with those of their native cultures, and then pursues a more in-depth study of the meaning of freedom at the time of the American Revolution and in the late 20th and early 21st Centuries.

Context:

This unit is part of a larger Civics curriculum on U.S. History and Culture which provides an overview of U.S History from the American Revolution to the present and engages the students in cross-cultural investigations on the issues of values and beliefs.
