Description of Assessment (Performance Project):
Pre-task / During-task / Post-task (Into - Through - Beyond) Pretask: Students complete a checklist of values for their native cultures similar to that found in the American Roots text on page xiv (excluding the part on the US. for the time being). Students share their culture's values (with examples!) with the rest of the class in small groups or to the whole group. Next students are asked to think about their knowledge of the American culture relative to this same list of values (now include the US. column as found on page xiv) and then discuss how these values are the same or different from their own cultures.
