Summer 2018: Credit Tuition and Fees Schedule

The chart below outlines the tuition and fees non-degree-seeking students are most likely to pay when they register for graduate-level credit for one of the CARLA summer institutes. This is in addition to the initial registration cost for a CARLA summer institute on a non-credit basis.

Non-degree-seeking students are those who are not enrolled in a UM degree program. Teachers who have been accepted following certificate programs: Advanced Practices in Second Language Teaching Certificate or Dual Language and Immersion Education Certificate pay the rates shown below, but are eligible to pay the lower UM student rate for the initial registration cost of the CARLA summer institute.

Note: U of MN degree-seeking students will pay tuition and fees according to their particular status at the University of Minnesota. Contact your department if you have questions or see the One Stop site.

Charged for non-degree-seeking students taking the CARLA Technology summer institutes:
Using the Web for Communicative Language Learning and Using Technology in Second Language Teaching. (Note: while the tuition for these institutes is higher, the fees are lower. See below.)

Applies to the CARLA Technology summer institutes: Using the Web for Communicative Language Learning and Using Technology in Second Language Teaching. $37.50 if registered for 2-5 credits––$75 if taking 6 or more credits.

Transportation and Safety Fee $24.00 Applies to all students.


Billing
Tuition, fees, and all other charges on the bill you receive by email are due in full by the first billing due date. Billing statements received after the first billing cycle must be paid in full by the due date indicated on the bill.  Note: All non-degree-seeking students will be given an University of Minnesota email and will need to set up their UM email account in order to receive a bill.
