Tense tool box

This student started building her “tense toolbox” during her freshman year in high school.  On a 4X6 note card she writes the name of each tense and a chart with the verb forms for all the personal pronouns except vosotros (because she does not usually use it.)  She adds new tenses as she learns them and also includes irregular verbs that are hard for her.  The student uses the toolbox as a reference guide and because “it makes Spanish seem easier.”

“You are bombarded with all these grammatical tenses and you don’t really know when to use them.  … If you have all them in such a small note card it really makes you feel you can grasp what’s going on, and use a variety of tenses in your speech as well as in your writing.”
