CARLA Fall Kick-Off Event 2024

At the annual fall kick-off event, initiative leaders shared highlights of CARLA’s current initiatives. Information was also shared about how to get involved with the Center through the CARLA Fellows Program, CARLA Presentation series, CARLA/LC Summer Institute scholarship program, and more.
Presenters:
- Kendall King is a Professor of Multilingual Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. She is a co-leader of the Equity & Access to State Seals of Biliteracy initiative.
- Karin Larson is Executive Assistant Director of CARLA.
- Mandy Menke is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Linguistics in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies. She is a co-leader of the Literacies in Language Education and Social Justice in Language Education initiatives.
- Kate Paesani is the Director of CARLA and an Associate Professor in the Department of French and Italian. She is a co-leader of the Language Program Direction, Literacies in Language Education and Social Justice in Language Education initiatives.
- Helena Ruf is Teaching Faculty and the Director of Language Instruction in the Department of German, Nordic, Slavic & Dutch at the University of Minnesota. She is a co-leader of the Social Justice in Language Education initiative.
