Unit Overview:

The students will spend five independent class periods studying fairy tales.  The students will read the story, Cinderella, using a English text, a French text, and a Fracophone text.  The students will have the occasion to study the similarities and differences in the text as well as create their own fairy tale.

Context:

Coming into this unit, I am assuming that my students have experienced and are familiar with fairy tales.  They will need to have a basic understanding of French grammar.  The students should have experience critically evaluating texts, as well as how to summarize major events in texts.  It will also be assumed that the students have had the previous opportunity to create their own unique and creative text.
