Unit Overview:

Students will demonstrate understanding of the geographic context of Russian culture: geographic features, climate, population dsitribution, and their influence on specific cultural events.

Context:

Students will be beginners in the first term of class. They will have just learned the Russian alphabet, basic pleasantries, classroom vocabulary, and functional grammar (pronouns, gender, possessives, adjectives). This will begin a series of units exploring Russian culture, and how it is affected by geographical location and features.
