Group One

Group Two

Group Three

To start, go to the group of signs that you've been assigned for this week, using the links on the left. You'll be presented with several thumbnail images of signs. Choose one and you'll see it enlarged. You can then try to read it, using clues in the background to help you with unfamiliar or difficult-to-encode familiar words.

If you get stuck, choose one or more of the clues at the left to help you along. When you've had enough, choose "answer" to see the message on the sign in a clearer form of Khmer script. Then choose "translation" to see a gloss of the sign's message in English. Start with whichever sign you want, but make sure you try all the signs in the group you've been assigned! Yes, this will be on the quiz.

Also, feel free at any time to consult this handy chart contrasting mool script with the more easy-to-read script you're probably comfortable with.

Remember, this is a learning exercise, and you'll get a lot more out of it the longer you try to work on decoding the mool script and the meanings of the words on your own, before you peek at the answer. Good luck!
