Accommodations
All options listed below are within walking distance of the institutes and the East Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. For each of them, you will need to identify the CARLA Summer Institutes to receive a discount. There are many activities around the University in the summer, so book your accommodations early! This delightful cooperative guest house is within walking distance of the University campus (7 blocks from institute sites). Breakfast is included and a kitchen is available for guest use. Some rooms have private bathrooms and others are shared. This has been a very popular choice for Summer Institute participants in the past, so be sure to reserve a room early. The deadline is April 1, 2010, but earlier reservations are highly recommended.

Days Hotel University

It includes a continental breakfast, a shuttle van service, and high-speed internet connections. The Days Hotel University is located 6-10 blocks from the site of the Institutes. You must book at least 30 days prior to the institute and ask for the CARLA Summer Institute group rate.

Radisson University Hotel

University of Minnesota Dormitories
The most economical and basic housing option near campus is Centennial Hall. Cost is $41.30/night for a single occupancy room.
Rooms do not include private bath. Internet access is available in the computer lab in the dormitory--wireless access is additional. Parking is available for an additional charge of $9 per day. Please note that you will need to pay for each DAY you wish to park. So, if you are staying 4 nights (Mon-Thurs) must enter 5 days if you wish to park Monday–Friday. Meals at the dorm can be purchased upon arrival. See the Centennial Hall website for more information about available amenities.
You can sign up for dorm accommodations and overnight parking online when you register for your summer institute. If you have already registered for a summer institute, you will need to contact the registration center by email (mwang003@umn.edu). Please let them know that you have already registered, but would like to add a dorm reservation.
