3          Technology productivity tools

·        Students use technology tools to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity.

·        Students use productivity tools to collaborate in constructing technology-enhanced models, prepare publications, and produce other creative works.

4          Technology communications tools

·        Students use a variety of media and formats to communicate information and ideas effectively to multiple audiences.

Criteria

Exceeds expectations (9-10)

Meets expectations (8-8.9)

Needs improvement (<8)

Points

Use of technology productivity tools (e.g., multimedia authoring tools)

·          Multimedia authoring tools have been used beyond expectations. The applications of their use go beyond the requirements of the project and have greatly enhanced the effectiveness of the oral presentation (use of many graphics illustrating the presentation, clear and logical organization of content in outlined format, etc.)

·          Multimedia authoring tools have been used with the minimum expectancy that was required to produce an acceptable presentation.  Some illustrations are provided and the overall presentation is easy to follow.

·          Multimedia authoring tools use show an obvious lack of proficiency required to support oral presentation.  No illustrations have been provided and slides do not convey a logical flow of information.  The overall presentation suffers from the use of the tools rather than being supported by them.

_____ x 15 =

_____ points

Use of technology research tools (e.g., online search with Internet.)

·          Students have gone beyond minimum proficiency for using these tools and have applied their use beyond the requirements of this project.

·          Students have met the minimum proficiency for using these tools and have gathered interesting material that could help them complete  their project.

·          Students have shown a lack of minimum proficiency in using such tools.  Students have failed to identify useful web sites could support the completion of their project.

_____ x15 =

_____ points

Use of technology communications tools (for those attempting to score extra points)

·          The communication tools have been used beyond expectations.  Students not only showed a very good control over the use of these tools but also applied their use in ways that exceed the requirements of this project.  Students were successful in their communicating quest.

·          The communication tools have been used with the proficiency necessary to communicate with others.  The use of the tools is acceptable and remains in the realm of the “expected” usage. The students have not been successful in establishing communication with others even though they repeatedly attempted to.

·          The communication tools have been used unsuccessfully and show a lack of the proficiency necessary to communicate with others.  The students have failed in their attempt and abandon their quest without further try.
